Hersha Patel brings 20 of experience in the healthcare industry as a registered nurse specializing in long-term care and CMS survey compliance and development.

Ms. Patel delivers immediate and actionable quality improvements to long-term care facilities. As the Chief Clinical Officer and Director of Quality Assurance at Sunnyside Nursing and Post-Acute Care Center, Ms. Patel develops and improves CMS quality measures through facility-wide infection control planning and implementation as well as through consistently passing all State and Federal surveys since 2019 through the Pandemic.

Prior to joining Sunnyside as Chief Clinical Officer, Ms. Patel served as the Director of Nursing at the Regency Oaks Post-Acute Care Center in Long Beach, California. At Regency Oaks, she improved facility CMS rating from a 3-star to a 5-star rating. To achieve this rating consistently year-over-year, she passed Health Department Surveys in June 2012, September 2013, January 2015, February 2016, March 2017, March 2018, she led efforts to decrease facility decubitus percentage from 7.7% to 1.2% over 6 months, and she led efforts to maintain a 0.0% facility acquired pressure ulcer status for 36 months. While in her role as Director of Nursing, Ms. Patel also earned the following awards: QAPI platinum award 2017 (HSAG), Pinnacle Customer Experience for Nursing Services 2017 (National level), and the ACHCA’s Eli Pick Award 2016 (National Top 9% of Post-Acute Care Centers to deliver quality of care).

Ms. Patel also brings 10 years of experience as the Director of Nursing Services at the Earlwood Care Center and as a Coordinator at the Royalwood Care Center where she developed her foundation and experience in long-term care and continuous quality improvement. Ms. Patel earned her Nursing License and her Associate’s Degree in Nursing at Concorde and West Coast University in Anaheim California.
