Eva Besserman, DO, MBA, FCCM

Eva Besserman is an associate of Nash Healthcare Consulting. Dr. Besserman practiced as a Medical Director of Critical Care and Intensivist for 26 years, then went on to be a Physician Surveyor and Team Lead for the Joint Commission for 6 years.

Throughout her career, Dr. Besserman has been an advocate for patient safety processes. She has held several roles in Patient Safety and Quality Improvement, primarily in the State of New Jersey. Her most current role is Clinical Director of the Patient Safety Reporting System for the Department of Health, State of New Jersey (DOH NJ). Prior to that, she was a Quality Improvement Consultant for the NJ QIO HQSI, Physician Case Reviewer, and Patient Safety Physician Adviser. Additionally, in her role as Medical Director of Critical Care for two community teaching hospitals in New Jersey, Dr. Besserman focused on quality of care issues and chaired hospital based quality committees.

Dr. Besserman received her medical education at University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Science. Thereafter, she completed her residency in internal medicine in Youngstown, Ohio, and her fellowship in Critical Care in Camden, New Jersey. In 2002, Dr. Besserman received her MBA from Auburn University.
